Chocolate spider webs are great for decorating a serving dish or the top of a cupcake, cake, or any type of desert. This is a different way to decorate your Halloween treats for your Halloween party!

You will need:

  • Chocolate flavored candy coating or chocolate flavored confectionary coating which you can find at any cake decorating supply store or at Michaels
  • Wax paper
  • Pastry bag

Melt the chocolate flavored candy coating.  Draw a spider web on paper for a template.  For spider web templates click here.  Place spider web drawing on a baking sheet and place wax paper on top of the spider web drawing.  You should be able to see the spider web drawing through the wax paper.  Fill the pastry bag with melted chocolate.  Snip the end of the pastry bag.  You don’t want to snip the end so that it is too small but you also don’t want it to be too large.  When you draw the spider web make sure the lines are on the thick side and make sure you connect the lines because that is what is holding the spider web together.  Draw your spider webs with the melted chocolate using the template.  Refrigerate until right before serving.  They need to be in the refrigerator at least 10 minutes.  When you are ready to use the spider webs, remove them from the wax paper carefully.  You can get ideas from the video above on different ways to assemble the spider webs.  This is a ghoulish and webby way to decorate!
